Mekka Magazine, we enjoyed sitting with the incredibly talented independent artist Peech. With a sound that blends raw emotion, authenticity, and an eclectic mix of influences, Peech is carving his path in the music industry. Here’s what he had to share about his journey, his artistry, and what’s ahead.
Let’s start at the beginning—how did your music journey start, and how did you find your unique sound?
I grew up as a competitive freestyle skier and football player in Park City, Utah. Sports were everything for me as a kid, and they were my outlet. I was quiet growing up, and sports were how I expressed myself. Then one day in high school, my friend and I decided to make a song. That experience sparked something in me. Writing and recording gave me the same flow and rush I got from sports—a sense of serenity and pure expression.
After dealing with injuries and burnout, I decided to dive into music full-time. I built a DIY studio in my closet, bought some basic equipment, and started experimenting with different sounds. I’ve always been inspired by a wide range of genres, from old-school rap to acoustic ballads, and my music reflects that. I owe a lot to collaborators like Adam Banx, who helped shape my sound early on.
“Tell Me” is nearing 1 million streams—congratulations! How does it feel to hit such an incredible milestone?
Thank you! Seeing that kind of response is always surreal. It’s a reminder that I’m not alone in what I’m feeling and expressing. I write most of my songs alone, and when a track like “Tell Me” resonates with listeners, it’s like a weight being lifted off my chest.
The messages I’ve received from fans about how the song has helped them through heartbreak and tough times mean everything to me. That’s my purpose as an artist—to connect and provide solace through music.
“Homestead Road” has also been gaining traction. Can you share the story behind it?
“Homestead Road” was inspired by a past relationship and journal entries I kept during that time. It’s a song about heartbreak, longing, and ultimately growth. I wanted to capture the emotional turbulence of losing something deeply cherished and the journey back to love and understanding. It’s about not taking moments for granted and appreciating the depth of our connections.
Your music style blends country and rap in such a unique way. How did that come about?
My taste in music is eclectic—Nas, Mac Miller, Johnny Cash, Bon Iver, The Lumineers—you name it. Listening to such a variety of genres helped me find my voice by giving me the freedom to experiment.
What ties it all together is my approach to songwriting. I’m very straightforward and unfiltered in my lyrics. I owe a lot to artists who came before me for showing me it’s okay to pour your heart out and be authentic in your expression.
You’ve described music as therapy for you. How do you hope it impacts your listeners?
Music has always been a way for me to process my emotions and navigate my thoughts. I see it as a journal for myself first, but once a song is out there, it’s for everyone. I want my music to be whatever people need it to be—whether it’s a comfort during tough times, a celebration of joy, or just a connection to someone else’s experience.
In such a competitive industry, what do you think sets you apart?
I think what makes me stand out is my authenticity. I don’t feel the need to follow trends or put on a persona to gain attention. I’m just a kid from Utah with a dream and a purpose, and I want to stay true to that.

What do you want your fans to take away from your music and your journey?
I want people to know they’re not alone and that it’s okay to be themselves. Life can be tough, but it’s also a journey we’re all navigating together. I hope my music helps listeners find comfort, connection, and maybe even a little bit of hope.
Outside of music, what do you enjoy doing? Any hobbies or favorite activities?
When I’m not making music or editing videos, I love being outdoors. Living in LA now, I spend a lot of time at the beach or by the pool with friends. I also love cooking—my mom is an amazing cook, and I’ve picked up some of her skills. Breakfast sandwiches are my specialty!
I still love skiing whenever I can get to the mountains, and I’m a big fan of movies—especially Quentin Tarantino and horror films. My tastes in movies, like my music playlists, are pretty eclectic.
Fan-favorite question: What’s your favorite food? And for the fans wondering—are you single?
Haha! My favorite foods are biscuits and gravy, anything Thanksgiving-related, and pasta—I eat way too much pasta. And yes, I am single for all the ladies out there wondering.
What can we expect from Peech in 2025?
2025 is going to be huge! I’m kicking off the year with a new song on January 10th and plan to release music monthly. There will be collaborations, a full-length project, and a tour on the horizon.
To stay connected, follow me everywhere @Peech. Thank you for listening and supporting me on this journey. Shoutout to Mekka Magazine for having me—it’s been an honor!
