Power Moves Inside Youngin’s Journey Top The Top

We’re so excited to have triple-threat entertainment guru, Youngin, grace our digital cover for this special series!

Hi Keith, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Thanks for having me! I’m Keith Anthony George II, but most people know me as “Youngin.” I’ve been in the entertainment industry for over 15 years now, working in roles like music manager, producer, A&R, DJ, and strategic advisor. I’m all about bridging the creative and business worlds. I was born in Oxfordshire, England, and growing up as a military brat exposed me to a lot of different cultures and sounds, which shaped my love for music. My career started out in San Antonio, Texas, as a mixtape DJ, and over time, I’ve had the chance to work with some really talented names in the industry. Now, I’m focused on nurturing the next wave of talent and innovative projects.

You’ve had an impressive journey as a businessman and entrepreneur. What inspired you to pursue this path, and how has it shaped who you are today?

Honestly, it’s my passion for music and wanting to create opportunities for others that pushed me into this. Early on, I realized I had a knack for connecting people—whether it was artists, executives, or brands. That ability to build bridges is what really fueled my journey. It’s taught me how to be resilient and stay creative, all while keeping true to my vision, especially in an industry that’s always evolving.

As a producer, how do you balance the creative and business aspects of your work? Are there any projects that hold a special place in your career so far?

Balancing both creativity and business definitely takes some discipline. I always approach projects with a collaborative mindset, making sure the artist’s vision lines up with the strategic goals. One project that really stands out to me is the Hi Hater campaign I worked on with Maino. It was a huge lesson in the power of strategic marketing. Another proud moment was helping hip-hop pioneer Sam Jacobs get the recognition he deserves for his groundbreaking contributions to the culture.

The startup you’re involved with is generating a lot of excitement. Can you tell us more about its mission and your role in helping it grow?

Yeah, I’m really excited about Fliiks, a revolutionary photo-sharing app I’m involved with as one of the Directors of Regional Development. My role is all about driving growth and building connections, especially in key markets like San Antonio. Fliiks is changing the way people share and experience visual content—it’s all about fostering creativity and community. I work with the team to expand the app’s regional presence, form strategic partnerships, and make sure the app’s long-term success is solid.

We heard you’ll be mentoring in Dallas soon. What inspired you to take on this role, and what kind of impact do you hope to have on the next generation of entrepreneurs?

Mentorship means a lot to me because I’ve had some amazing mentors along the way, like industry vet Lorenza “Big Lo” Lennon. I feel like it’s my turn to pay it forward by sharing my experiences with young entrepreneurs. I want to help them navigate the challenges of this industry and inspire them to dream big. My goal is to equip them with the tools they need to succeed and grow.

In your busy schedule, how do you like to spend your spare time? Any hobbies or activities that help you recharge?

I love staying active, whether it’s working outdoors, traveling, or keeping up with the latest music trends. Those things keep me grounded and help me stay inspired. Spending time with close friends and family is also really important to me—it reminds me of what I’m working for and keeps me motivated.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects or goals you’re excited about?

Right now, I’m focused on scaling Fliiks and seeing how far we can push the app. I’m also continuing my work with artist management, consulting, and executive producing to help my clients reach their full potential. Being a member of the Recording Academy is another exciting part of my journey, and I’m looking forward to contributing even more to the music community and creating new opportunities for emerging talent.
