Dr. Richardson is a trailblazer in every sense of the word—a strong Black woman who has broken barriers and paved the way for others in business and community empowerment. As a proud native of Inglewood, she has utilized her deep roots and resilience to emerge as a prominent businesswoman and entrepreneur, making significant strides in various industries while staying deeply committed to uplifting her community.
The City of Inglewood recently recognized Dr. Richardson’s exceptional contributions, highlighting her unwavering dedication to community service and youth empowerment. Growing up in Inglewood, Marlo Nicole understood the importance of preparing the next generation for success. As a Black businesswoman and serial entrepreneur, she has achieved remarkable milestones, including the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and earning doctoral degrees in Business and Entrepreneurship.
Her journey is one of resilience and determination. From her early career in law enforcement, where she rose to the rank of police lieutenant, to her foray into real estate at just 21 years old, Marlo Nicole has consistently shattered glass ceilings. She made history as the first Black woman to chair the California State Licensing Board, appointed by Governor Jerry Brown.
Marlo Nicole’s entrepreneurial spirit has led to the creation of successful businesses, including popular lounges and entertainment venues like Berris and Stage 21. Her latest ventures, “California Vintage Wine Bistro” and “Braymar Wines,” along with a partnership with Big League Hospitality Group at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, showcase her innovative approach to business. She is also a driving force behind brands such as Greenwood & Company and Just Mary Brand & Delivery, both of which are known for promoting diversity and innovation.
In addition to her business achievements, Marlo Nicole has made significant contributions to media production through Marlo Nicole Productions, offering top-notch services for podcasts, small scene productions, and executive producing TV and film projects.
Her commitment to education and youth empowerment is evident through initiatives like Business Bullish and her nonprofit, Generational Wealth Builders Worldwide. These programs are designed to inspire, educate, and provide hands-on experiences to future entrepreneurs.
