Angélique Kidjo Brings “African Symphony” to Carnegie Hall with Special Guests Nile Rodgers and Derrick Hodge

Angélique Kidjo, the 5-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and activist from Benin, has had such an impactful career that she’s earned the title “The Queen of African Music.” Known for her iconic cover of the Talking Heads’ Remain in Light, which introduced Fela Kuti’s genius to American audiences, Angélique is now unveiling her latest project, African Symphony.

This special concert will feature an array of notable guests, including legendary American guitarist Nile Rodgers, whose 1979 disco hit “Good Times” remains one of the most sampled songs in music history. The arrangements are crafted by Derrick Hodge, a two-time Grammy winner and one of hip hop’s finest bassists.
