EVNNE Unveils Their Bold New Sound with ‘HOT MESS’: A Free-Spirited Album for 2025

EVNNE kicks off 2025 with a fiery declaration of freedom and fun on their 4th Mini Album, HOT MESS. Known for their tight choreography and polished performances, the South Korean boy band steps into new territory with a laid-back, carefree approach, showcased through their title track. As the group’s second anniversary looms, HOT MESS serves as a reflection of their evolution, offering fans a mix of vibrant visuals and playful tunes that embrace the beauty of life’s messiness.

The album’s overarching themes, “Sowing” and “Splatter,” set the stage for EVNNE to display both their artistic depth and carefree nature. “Splatter” embraces the chaos of life with bold, colorful imagery, while “Sowing” symbolizes their ability to stay grounded amidst disorder, like a gardener cultivating growth amidst unpredictability. This dual concept comes alive in the album’s visuals, with scenes ranging from bold, colorful splashes to serene, garden-like tranquility.

The six tracks on HOT MESS include the energetic pop-rock title track, “HOT MESS,” and five more diverse tracks: “Birthday,” “Love Like That,” “CROWN,” “Youth,” and a Korean version of their 2024 single “景色 (KESHIKI).” Each track holds its own character, from the anthemic rock influences in “Youth” to the playful, lighthearted vibes of “Love Like That.” The music video for “HOT MESS” reflects the song’s chaotic spirit, blurring the lines between reality and abstraction with a climactic, emotional visual narrative.

Key members YOO SEUNGEON and PARK JIHOO played pivotal roles in shaping the lyrical direction of the album, contributing to the writing of several tracks, including “Youth” and “HOT MESS.” SEUNGEON also penned the lyrics for “Youth,” a track that captures the essence of youthful chaos and the beauty of embracing both the highs and lows of life.

EVNNE’s 2025 comeback is a celebration of embracing the unpredictable, and the album’s production is an invitation for listeners to join the group in their carefree exploration of life’s messiest moments. The group’s leader, KEITA, reflected on the project, encouraging fans to listen to the album and feel the fun within the mess: “If you’re curious about how much fun we can have in the middle of a messy situation through this album, I suggest listening to our new tracks.”

With their upcoming two-day concert, SET N GO, on April 5th and 6th at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul, EVNNE shows no sign of slowing down. After an action-packed 2024 with multiple mini-albums, a successful Asia tour, and chart-topping hits, they are ready to keep the momentum going into the new year. Fans are already buzzing about EVNNE’s growth and their unshakable commitment to delivering fresh and exciting sounds that blend chaos and creativity.

Stay tuned as EVNNE continues to carve out their unique path in K-pop with HOT MESS—a true testament to their growth as artists and a group that is ready to take on 2025 with everything they’ve got.
