J. Alexander Martin isn’t one to rest on his laurels. As a serial entrepreneur, co-founder, CEO, and Executive Producer at For Us By Us Network, Martin’s journey is defined by his relentless drive to inspire new generations of entrepreneurs and leave an indelible mark on culture and business. One of Martin’s most ambitious projects is the upcoming inaugural For Us By Us Awards Show & Weekend. Scheduled for August 13th through 17th, 2025, at Memphis’ Cannon Center for the Performing Arts and Renasant Convention Center, the event promises to be a transformative celebration of Black excellence in film, TV, music, fashion, entrepreneurship, and beyond. With marquee names like Will Smith and LL Cool J expected to be among the honorees, the awards show is set to generate a significant economic boost for Memphis and cement its status as a cultural hotspot.

Adding another feather to his cap, Martin has recently released his new book, Consult to Conquer. In it, he shares his hard-earned insights on forging meaningful client relationships and scaling businesses without sacrificing the personal touch. “Consult to Conquer reveals how a consultative approach—rooted in deep listening, authentic engagement, and tailored solutions—can transform startups into powerhouse brands,” he explains. The book is part strategy guide, part motivational manifesto, and a call to build lasting connections that drive success.

When asked what fuels his passion, Martin’s answer is straightforward: “My drive to be successful. I don’t believe in goals because they are limiting.
